King Charles

We will examine the birth chart of King Charles and the transits related to his recent cancer diagnosis as reported by the BBC (https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68208157).

King Charles was born in Buckingham Palace on 14 November 1948 at 21:14. He was the heir to the throne but did not ascend until the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, on 22 September 2022.

Delineation

Planets in intercepted signs suggest that the traits they portray will not come out until later in life. Charles has Aries on the 10th House of Career. He was destined to be King, which is his vocation, but Mars, the ruler of Aries, is in Sagittarius along with Sagittarius’s ruler Jupiter, intercepted in the 5th House. Charles did not ascend to the throne until he was almost 74 years old.

Some people questioned his keeping his name Charles since Charles I was executed and Charles II died of an apoplectic fit at 54 years of age. Not only was the name a wrong choice, but so was his coronation date and time.

The coronation occurred on 6 May 2023 at 12:02. I can see what the astrologer wanted, which was to have Leo, the sign of the king, on the Ascendant with the Sun on the Midheaven, representing the vocation. However, this chart also has Pluto squaring the eclipse, and Pluto is on the cusp of the 6th House of Health. If there is a court astrologer, they ignore eclipses, as Charles and Diana’s wedding chart has a prominent eclipse, and we saw how that played out.

Uranus, a planet of sudden change or revolution, could represent innovative ideas, but it can also represent unexpected events. It is the co-ruler of the 6th House of Illness, and it is placed in the 10th House.

Coronation Aspects

If we look at the planetary aspects to Charles’ chart at the time of the coronation, we see the previous eclipse is directly on his Moon, and transiting Pluto, in the 6th House of Health/Illness, is square to the Moon. Transiting Saturn in the 8th House of Death is opposite his Saturn in the second House. Saturn rules his 6th House of Health/Illness. Transiting Saturn is in a quincunx aspect to the Ascendant, which means he must make adjustments, or he will not do well.

Cancer Diagnosis

On 5 February 2024, it was made public that Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer. The condition was most likely known before, but the Crown decided to make it public that day. A couple of things concern me about what he will be going through in the next little while.

The first is his Solar Arcs. Solar Arcs tend to represent events. Saturn rules his 6th House of Illness and the 8th House of Death. Saturn is a planet of difficulty as well. On 13 October 2024, it will conjunct his Sun exactly by Solar Arc. Since the Sun represents the person and their vitality, and in Charles’ chart, it also is the ruler of the Ascendant or the person’s health.

Looking at the transits for that day, the previous solar eclipse is conjunct his 4th House of Endings. Solar Eclipses bring about significant changes, both empowering or destructive. Moreover, transiting Saturn is retrograding back into his 8th House of Death.

Considering converse transits, which looks at the planetary position of the planets back in time at the same distance as the current time from the native’s birth, there are some indicators here. Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius, and it is on the cusp of the 8th House of Death/Transformation. Transiting converse Uranus is on the Ascendant, signifying a sudden turn and potentially death. The transiting previous solar eclipse is squaring the natal Saturn, who is the traditional ruler of the 8th House.

William’s Chart

Prince William was born 21 June 1982 at 21:03 in London. If we consider Prince William’s chart, on that day, he has the previous solar eclipse on Mars, the traditional ruler of his 10th House of Career. Transiting Pluto is quincunx the Sun, which represents the father in the chart. The 4th House also represents the father. He has Taurus on the 4th House cusp, making Venus the ruler of the fourth. Transiting Uranus, representing sudden changes, is conjunct on Venus.

Ceres, the asteroid associated with nurturing and motherhood, is exactly conjunct the south node or the past. The events of the day will bring back memories of his mother.

Prediction

Considering the aspects in Charles’ chart and that of Prince William, there is a strong indication of a death or transformation. While there is a possibility the King may abdicate the throne due to illness, it could also mean the King may succumb to his illness on 13 October 2024.
