Coco is dancing for the camera. Her favourite song is Surfin' Bird. Please do not consider purchasing a parrot if you are not going to spend time with them. These birds are on the same intelligence level as chimps and dolphins so, leaving a parrot in a cage with no toys and no interaction is equivalent to leaving your child locked up in a closet.
I usually took the bird out for walks but I had to keep her wings clipped so she didn't fly into traffic.

There are a variety of different species and all have their specific traits. Research all of them before you purchase one. Buy from a breeder. Pick one that suits your life style and what you expect from it. African Greys are excellent speakers and cockatoos are not, but cockatoos can easily learn tricks. I've taught Coco how to play peekaboo and sometimes she'll start the game with me when she wants to play.
I've just learned something new. There are some cockatoos which can live as long as 80 years old but the average life span is 15 years since they can fall ill as my precious did.
